The ballot for Best Book of the Week on the Whipped Cream review site, that is.

Woo hoo!  It's an honor to be nominated. :D

Here's how it works: Each week the lovely WC folks post the books that got 4.5 and 5 cherry reviews and you vote for your favorite book, based on the review. The winner gets a button to proudly display on their website and their book is featured at the top of the contest page all the following week. Pretty swell, huh?

The contest runs until Sunday (tomorrow). Please go take a look at the contestants and cast your vote today!

Hey everybody, my new young adult science fiction novel LIBYRINTH, written under the name Pearl North, comes out today.  Woo hoo!  To help me celebrate, Steven Harper-Piziks ([info]spiziks ) has posted an interview with Pearl North on his LJ here.

Currently, Amazon has LIBYRINTH discounted to just $12.23, a pretty good deal for a hardcover, if you're interested.  Finally, to find out more about Pearl North and LIBYRINTH, you can go to my author website: http://pearlnorth.com.

My heartfelt thanks to all my friends for your support during this project.  You guys are the best.

...is up on Book View Cafe's front page starting at noon today.  You can still read the prologue and Chapter 1 from my bookshelf.

Plus there's this news:

BOOK VIEW CAFÉ EXPANDS ITS REACH

The new fiction website, Book View Café (www.bookviewcafe.com) is expanding its internet reach with two new partnerships.

Book View Café has teamed up with PortableReading to make stories by its team of veteran authors available over the iPhone and iPod touch via their TextonPhone application (www.textonphone.com).  Not interested in leaving the world of print behind, the work of Café authors will also be available on the AnthologyBuilder site
(www.anthologybuilder.com).

“These are extremely exciting partnerships,” says Book View Care Project Manager, Sarah Zettel.   “The Book View Café authors are committed to bringing first rate stories to readers where and how they want them.  TextonPhone and AnthologyBuilder are leaders in their fields.  Our partnership will allow our audience to customize their access to the best fiction available today.”

Book View Cafe is delighted to announce that we will be partnering with PortableReading to distribute works by Book View Cafe authors over the Apple iPhone,  iPod Touch and the popular social networking site Facebook.

“Millions of readers worldwide are turning their cell phones into e-book readers,” says Book View Project Manager, Sarah Zettel.  “This is an unparalleled opportunity to bring our work to this audience.”

Since its founding, PortableReading has been a leading developer of e-reading applications.  “Their commitment to make more books accessible to more readers made them a perfect partner for Book View Cafe,” said Zettel.

Book View’s reading lists with TextonPhone and Facebook will not entirely duplicate the library available through the Cafe’s website.  Authors will select from among their new and classic works to create lists which compliment and support each other.  Both will provide material exclusive to the venue.  As with the main Book View Cafe website, the Book View TextonPhone reading list will be updated on a regular basis.

For any questions, contact bookviewcafe.com at bookviewcafe@gmail.com

Two of my buds have books out, neither of them fiction.

Rick Lieder is an artist and photographer who has found fascination and beauty in his own back yard.  AERIAL ACROBATS is a collection of phenomenal photos of birds in midflight.  These images capture life on the wing in a way that is unexpected and illuminating.  Check it out.

Kris Spencer's book, FILM AND TELEViSION SCORES, 1950-1979 is packed with history and analysis, not to mention some very groovy visuals.  Kris combines his encyclopedic knowledge of music and pop-culture with a playful sensibility and a love of kitsch.  Check it out.

First of all, I want to thank everyone who's friended me lately.  I appreciate it!

You'll find I don't post a lot here, or on my other lj, [info]jessica_freely.  That's because I do most of my blogging on my typepad blog: http://friskbiskit.com.
If you want to keep up with my regular blog posts, you can do so right from LJ.  Just friend my friskbiskit syndication page here:
http://syndicated.livejournal.com/annesible_feed/

I welcome comments any way you care to leave them, but I don't get notification of comments on my syndication page and sometimes I don't catch them. If you want to be sure you get a response, click through to my blog using the link at the top of every post and leave your comment/question there.

Thanks again for staying in touch.

Hey everybody, Stay, the sequel to my first Torquere story, Hero, is up on the Torquere site! Both are available here.

Woohoo!

To celebrate, there's a blurb and excerpt below (mildly nsfw.)

And be sure to stop by my blog. I'm thanking everyone who made Hero a success by offering an exclusive freebie story only available at http://friskbiskit.com.

Stay Blurb: Seth and David are back in this sequel to Jessica Freely's
popular story Hero. Waking up the morning after saving David's life is the best thing that's happened to Seth in a long, long time. He knows it can't last, knows David will toss him back out on the street, but he revels in their time together anyway.

David doesn't understand why Seth is suddenly so nervous. He wants his new lover to stay, to share his life, but will he be able to convince Seth he really means it?
