I'm pleased to invite you to check out a new website where more than
twenty professional authors are experimenting with new publishing
paradigms and taking advantage of the internet's many resources in
order to bring our work directly to readers online. It's called Book
View Cafe:
http://bookviewcafe.com

This project started six months ago as a discussion on a pro women
sf/f writers list, and we've been working hard on it ever since. Much
of what is offered on Book View Cafe is free, over time, some authors
will offer some of their work for a fee. Book View Cafe includes
romance, mystery, science fiction, fantasy, young adult, and horror,
and more genres are likely to appear as we grow and explore.

We are: Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff, Brenda Clough, Kate Daniel, Jessica Freely, Laura Anne Gilman, Christie Golden, Anne Harris, Sylvia Kelso, Katharine Eliska Kimbriel, Sue Lange, Ursula K.
Stay. a sequel to Hero, is now available!

Hey everybody, Stay, the sequel to my first Torquere story, Hero, is up on the Torquere site! Both are available here.

Woohoo!

To celebrate, there's a blurb and excerpt below (mildly nsfw.)

And be sure to stop by my blog. I'm thanking everyone who made Hero a success by offering an exclusive freebie story only available at http://friskbiskit.com.

Stay Blurb: Seth and David are back in this sequel to Jessica Freely's
popular story Hero. Waking up the morning after saving David's life is the best thing that's happened to Seth in a long, long time. He knows it can't last, knows David will toss him back out on the street, but he revels in their time together anyway.

David doesn't understand why Seth is suddenly so nervous. He wants his new lover to stay, to share his life, but will he be able to convince Seth he really means it?

Excerpt:

Seth's first awareness was of being warm; his second was of clean, soft sheets against his skin. He was in a bed. The last time he'd
slept in a bed was back in-- No! His heart pounded. Frantic, Seth forced himself up out of sleep.

How in the hell had he wound up back in that place? He'd sworn he'd die before he went back. He pushed himself up and blinked, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings. Books. So many books, lining the walls on every side of the tiny room. Beside him in the bed, the cutest little
blond guy he'd ever seen was sacked out, lost to the world, face open and innocent and breathtaking. David. Oh. Right. Seth's heart rate slowed and he sank back down on the mattress. He was at David's place.

Gingerly, not wanting to wake him, Seth sidled closer to David, so that the lengths of their bodies touched. David sighed and turned
slightly, draping a warm arm across Seth's chest. Seth's morning erection pulsed back to life after that initial, rude awakening, and
pressed into David's hip. David smiled in his sleep.

Seth felt overwhelmed by the feelings he had looking at David; love, protectiveness, lust, admiration, gratitude. David was kind,
intelligent, generous, loving; everything Seth had always thought he must be, ever since that first day when David had seen him dumpster diving behind the bookshop and gave him his leftover Thai noodles. The fact that Seth had been able to save David from getting gang raped last night; that was… Well he knew David was grateful but what David didn't understand was that being able to do that for him was the best, most useful thing Seth had ever done in his life. It made his existence no longer pointless.

The last twelve hours here with David were the best Seth had ever known. It would be over soon, he realized. Soon, David would wake up, and then he'd have to go to his job, and Seth would have to go back to living on the streets. At least he'd have the memory of this night to keep him warm, not to mention the clean clothes and the meal David had made for him.

And maybe they could get in a morning fuck before this interlude came to an end. The recollection of the things they'd done together last night made Seth's groin tighten and his head swim. And he noticed that

David's own morning woody was poking him in the thigh. Seth couldn't help it, he ran a hand down between their bodies and caressed David's silken length.

E-reader Recommendations?

Hey everyone,

I'm planning to blow my "economic stimulus package" from the government on stuff I'd never buy otherwise (I'm so patriotic!), which puts me in the market for an electronic book reader. I know, I'm in print saying they're stupid. That was before I started reading a lot of e-books. *eats crow*

So, I'm looking for recommendations. Do you have one? Which of the current models do you think is best for someone who wants it to read lots of e-published m/m romance?

He set them down on the counter and,
giving David every opportunity to back away, he lifted one hand to David's cheek. David
couldn't move. He was mesmerized by Seth's eyes, looking at him so tenderly. His thumb
caressed David's cheek and David felt a twinge of pain. He gasped. The cut. They'd cut him.
How had he managed to forget that? How was it he only felt it now, that Seth was touching him? He drew in a deep breath. He hadn't even looked in the mirror. "How bad is it?" he asked.

And if you're interested in the story behind this story, there's more at http://friskbiskit.com
